We Can Help With Your Dental Anxiety
If you are one of the estimated 75% of people in the US who suffer from dental anxiety, you might be pleased to know that your appointment with us can be much more relaxed and pleasant than your past experiences. Our solution is simple and effective and allows you to relax for a change! What is this “miracle?”
Sit Back and Relax With Relaxation Dentistry
With relaxation dentistry, our goal is to help you relax and enjoy a dental visit without anxiety and stress. We use oral medications to induce the desired calming effect that will help you to relax. We will use either minimal or moderate sedation, depending upon your level of anxiety and the treatment that will be done.
Minimal Sedation
We use nitrous oxide when minimal sedation is indicated. This is a safe gas that is combined with oxygen and delivered through a comfortable mask that allows you to breathe normally during treatment. To aid your recovery, when your procedure is complete, we reduce the gas until you are once again breathing the air in the room. When there is a need for slightly more sedation, we can add NuCalm® to the nitrous oxide. NuCalm® is drug-free — it uses biochemistry, physics, and neurophysiology to achieve a state of deeper relaxation. Recovery is relatively fast, and you will be able to drive yourself to work or home after your appointment.
Moderate Sedation
For deeper anxieties, or when treatment may require more time, moderate sedation may be indicated. We use select oral medications to provide you with a deeper state of sedation than you would have with minimal sedation. Although this is oral conscious sedation, you may not remember the details of your appointment. Recovery takes a while longer with this deeper sedation, and you must have a driver to bring you to and from your appointment with us.
Sedation Dentistry Might Be Right for You
Sedation dentistry provides a calmer, stress-free experience to patients who are fearful and anxious. It creates the illusion that time has quickly passed, which can help those who have difficulty sitting comfortably through longer procedures. We want to answer your questions and concerns about sedation dentistry!
