2020 Holiday Food Drive
This year has been hard on everyone and especially hard for people who were already food or housing insecure before the pandemic struck. Many people have lost jobs and homes and now find themselves with very limited resources. Luckily, there has also been an overwhelming response from citizens around the country who have generously donated to homeless shelters, food pantries, and community kitchens to help those who may be in difficulty.
We, who have been extremely fortunate throughout this challenging time, also want to show our support and share some of what we have with others who may not have been so lucky. That is why Smiles by Holsinger and Higgins is conducting a food drive at our office on 10646 River Rd. in Denton from now until December 15th to benefit His Hope Haven, a local homeless shelter.
We humbly ask our patients, and their friends and families, to please help us by contributing any unexpired, non-perishable items they see fit, such as:
- Canned goods, including canned fruit, veggies, and soups
- Dry goods and pantry staples like pasta, rice, and beans
- Cereal and instant oatmeal
- Prepackaged meals
- Snacks, nuts, trail mix, crackers
Again, please make sure that any items you choose to donate are non-perishable and not expired, as food safety is very important.
This is the season of giving, and with so many additional people in need this year, giving is more important than ever. So, please join us in sharing a little bit of our good fortune with those who are struggling this holiday season, and please tell others as well. All donations are greatly appreciated.
