Learn About How We’re Giving Back
We believe that our focus on dental care doesn’t end with our patients. One area that we are passionate about is giving back to our community when we can. We know that not receiving dental care can be detrimental to your oral health. This is why we recommend patients visit our office regularly for routine oral hygiene examinations and cleanings. However, we know that some people are not able to receive regular dental care for a number of reasons. We recently had the opportunity to work with the Missions of Mercy to provide dental care to people in need. We were also on TV promoting the event on Delmarva Life. Read on to learn more about this event and how many people we were able to help.
Mini Missions of Mercy Event
In the beginning of June, we had the opportunity to partner with the Missions of Mercy to host a mini-event where we provided cleanings, regular dental fillings, and extractions (excluding wisdom teeth and broken-off teeth) to those in need in the Eastern Shore Community. To promote the event, Dr. Holsinger and Dr. Higgins appeared on a TV segment on Delmarva Life.
On June 7th, we held a screening where we examined 41 patients. Over the course of two days, we provided $57,902 worth of dental treatments at no cost to patients. Included in these treatments were 63 extractions, 37 fillings, 12 full-mouth gross scalings, and 41 panorex X-rays.
