Helpful Tips To Help You Relax Before Your Next Appointment
Do you get nervous before you visit the dentist or need dental treatment? If so, you are not alone! There is a large number of people who experience some form of nervousness or anxiety before visiting our office. We never want your nervous feelings to keep you from getting the dental care you need and deserve. We want you to feel safe and comfortable while in our care. Here are some tips to help you relax before and during your next appointment:
Be Mindful of Your Appointment Time
If you get nervous when visiting our office, be sure to schedule an appointment during a time that is the best with your schedule. We don’t recommend visiting after a long day of work.
Avoid Caffeine
While caffeine is loved by many, especially to help start the day, it can be problematic if you have it before an appointment. Caffeine can increase the blood flow in the body and add to nervous and anxious feelings. We would advise you to refrain from drinking your caffeine drink before your appointment. We also want to remind you to drink plenty of water so you are hydrated before your visit.
Bring Headphones
Although we do have music and movies you are welcome to enjoy during your appointment, you may feel more comfortable bringing your headphones and enjoying your favorite music, podcast, or audiobook to pass the time.
Be Honest With Us
If you have avoided visiting the dentist due to nervous or fearful feelings about the dentist or dental treatments, be honest with our team. Our main goal is to help you get the dental treatment you need for lasting oral health. We offer three “comfort options” to help you relax before, during, and after your appointment. Call and ask a knowledgeable team member about the available options to help you relax and get the treatment you need.
We never want nervous feelings to keep you from getting the oral care you deserve. If you have not visited our office for a hygiene examination within the past six months, we encourage you to call our office located in Denton, MD and schedule an appointment today.
