Meet A Valued Team Member – Mikayla
March is a special month because we take the time to celebrate a very special, key group of team members in our office — our Dental Assistants. While the official celebration of Dental Assistants Recognition Week is during the first week of the month, we feel that it is important to recognize our team all the time. We want to take some time this month to help you learn a little more about one of our dedicated dental assistants, Mikayla.
Mikayla is one of our newest dental assistants as she joined the practice in November of 2020. She has always had a fascination with teeth. In fact, as a child Mikayla enjoyed playing with a play-doh dental set. She completed her schooling and training at the Poly Tech Adult Education.
Mikayla loves the fact that each patient and each tooth that is treated has different results, even when the procedure is the same. This is one of the factors that makes the field of dentistry so interesting, even though treatments may be repeated multiple times a day, the experience is always unique depending on the needs of each patient. Mikayla wants patients to know that it’s OK not to be a fan of the dentist. There may be multiple reasons that patients have nervous feelings or fear of the dentist, and thankfully these patients can use sedation dentistry to get the dental treatment they need.
When she is not in the office, you might find Mikayla enjoying the great outdoors with her boyfriend and black lab as she enjoys hunting and fishing. Mikayla enjoys the summer because she can go out on her boat. If given the opportunity, she would love to travel to beautiful Hawaii.
