We Are So Proud Of Dr. Higgins
We are proud to announce that Dr. Higgins was recently sworn into the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners. The mission of the Board of Dental Examiners is to protect the citizens of Maryland and to promote quality health care in the field of dentistry and set standards for the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene through regulations and legislation. Drs. Higgins and Holsinger continually strive to do what’s best for their patients. Whether that’s ensuring they are providing the best dental care possible or serving the citizens of Maryland as champions for dental health, as in the case of Dr. Higgins’ appointment to the State Board of Dental Examiners, they take the responsibility of their profession seriously.
Service to the community is a tradition in the Higgins and Holsinger families. Dr. Higgins’ mother Rose was a Red Cross volunteer for over 50 years! Dr. Holsinger’s father Rodney was a Boy Scout leader for many years and a volunteer firefighter. All four of their parents were very involved in their churches as well.
Drs. Higgins and Holsinger’s oldest daughter Dr. Rebecca Holsinger received her doctorate in Physical therapy in 2012. She works at the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. She was asked to serve on the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy in June 2018 and is currently Vice Chair of her board. She was Dr. Higgins’ inspiration to serve the citizens of the state of Maryland.
“I followed her example when I was sworn in ‘Covid style’ on May 7th on the portico of the Caroline County Courthouse. I am honored to serve on the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners,” says Dr. Higgins.
